We do residential painting, commercial painting, both interior and exterior. This video here was from an interior, commercial painting job. We do a lot of commercial work, but we mostly do residentials. Not because we choose to, but only because that’s who calls the most and accepts most of our proposals,

We needed to move fast. Going up and down a ladder so many times can wear out your knee, and a whole bunch of brushing will pay it’s tolls on your elbows. So to prevent any future discomforts, we decided to bring the small rolling scaffold and some tape to keep our elbows compressed. Wow, what a great decission! This video was recorded towards the begging of the job. Towards the end of the job I was rolling up and down the hallways like there was no tomorrow. It kind of reminded me of skateboarding.

Painting Contractor Equipment.

The Metaltech Mini Folding Work Platform. It is very lightweight. Assembles in a couple of minutes. It has a capacity of 500 pounds so 2 people can easily go on it. It comes with 2 planks and one small but very convenient tool shelf. We put our cut cans on the shelf and cut those walls like I said, like there was no tomorrow. Here is a link to the small scaffold, Metaltech Mini Folding Work Platform | SherwinWilliams (sherwin-williams.com)

Once you’re done with it, it folds in half so you can easily store it in the van on the way back to the shop (because this is not the type of tool I would carry around in my van with me). I mean, it kind of would be cool to have this with us in every job. You can roll all your equipment around instead of carrying it all. It would also just be fun, but not all jobs have enough space for you to be rolling around the around with a mini scaffold, I think what we use the most in interior jobs are 6 foot ladders and the work bench. Nevertheless, It’s nice to bring this out when we bring it out.

In this job we used Sherwin Williams’ Duration. Color is called Worldly Gray. They went with a Matte sheen. It went good, the carpenters made a lot of touchs ups that we had to paint over and all the paint touch ups came out pretty good. Still personally I would had used Emerald Matte instead but hey, we don’t pick the colors and sheens!
